Announcing GMOD in a Box

Scott Cain
Hello,

I am pleased to announce the first release of GMOD in a Box.  It is release number 2.04 (I'm numbering them in the same scheme as the GMOD in the Cloud releases, so this is a small point release change from the last GMOD in the Cloud release, 2.03).  The only difference between 2.03 and 2.04 is that JBrowse was updated from 1.10.4 to 1.10.6.

GMOD in a Box is a VirtualBox implementation of the same software configuration as GMOD in the Cloud, using the same operating system (Ubuntu 12.04 LTS) and disk structure, so that tutorials for one should be pretty much interchangeable for the other.  The GMOD software installed in this instance is Chado, Tripal, GBrowse2, JBrowse and WebApollo.

GMOD in a Box can be downloaded from the GMOD ftp site:

It is approximately 1.5GB.  You can find more information about GMOD in a Box on it's wiki page:

Questions about GMOD in a Box can be directed to the GMOD developers mailing list, [hidden email].

Thanks and Happy Computing,
Scott

Hi Daniel,

I forgot to make the file publicly readable--please try again and let me know if there is a problem.

Thanks,
Scott
