Hi,
Our users noticed inconvenient problem with GBrowse2: for long features (or on detailed zoom levels) feature labels/titles are out of the visible screen.
So labels are properly placed above left end of the feature, but on the standard GB2 start, for a long features label sits not on the visible screen, but couple of screens to the left - because glyph spans central "starting screen" plus couple of initially invisible screens which are used for "smooth scrolling". Same happens on fine zoom levels, when typical gene span starts to cover size of these five screens - and then you see gene symbol only after scrolling to the leftmost screen out of available five.
Is there any solution to that problem? Having symbol/name in a popup is not a solution as requires mouse pointing which is very different from std area overview at one glance..
Thanks in advance for any comments,
V. Strelets FlyBase Consortium

There's no solution right now, but with a little effort I can make the title float over the glyph so that it never goes off-screen. Perhaps this can get into one of the fall releases; right now the priority is stability and performance. Thanks for pointing out the problem.
