The course will cover the basics of cloud computing with a
focus on Amazon Web Services (AWS) including account signup, overview of
services offered focusing on those key to Bioinformatics, identity and
security, creation and customization of machine images, data movement
and processing, monitoring, and more.
Perl for Bioinformatics
The three-day Perl course is designed for beginning and intermediate Perl programmers.
Data Analysis and Visualization
This course will introduce ways to address the challenge of Big Data using R language tools and Bioconductor packages.
Students will learn how to produce publication quality genome annotations ready for community access, first by using MAKER to create initial automated annotations, and then Apollo to manually refine them.
