Upgrade galaxy built from source?

Sandra Maksimovic
Hi there,

Does anyone know of a best practice method to upgrade a Galaxy instance built from source?

Thanks,
Sandra

This depends a bit on the installation, but general procedures (a bit
dated, but these still apply) can be found here:
https://galaxyproject.org/admin/maintenance/

Ideally, without any local code customizations, it's really just something
like:
```
git fetch origin
git checkout release_20.09 && git pull --ff-only origin release_20.09
sh manage_db.sh upgrade
sh run.sh
```
