bootstrap class path not set in conjunction with -source 1.6

Pengcheng Yang
Hi miners,

I have encountered an warning message during build-db. The message is
listed as follow:

================= warning message======================

do-compile-with-gen-src:
     [javac] Compiling 144 source files to
/home/pengchy/soft/intermine/testmine/dbmodel/build/classes
     [javac] warning: [options] bootstrap class path not set in
conjunction with -source 1.6
     [javac] Note: Some input files use unchecked or unsafe operations.
     [javac] Note: Recompile with -Xlint:unchecked for details.
     [javac] 1 warning

====================================================

According to the log information, it seems the  build-db should be
recompiled with "-Xlint:unchecked". Is it?

I have tested:  1) set JAVA_HOME=/java/version/of/1.6
JAVA_HOME=/java/version/of/1.7; 2) export JAVA_OPT="$JAVA_OPT
-Xbootclasspath=/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.6.0-openjdk-1.6.0.41.x86_64/jre/lib/";
But all failed and the warning still appeared.

Although this warning, the building has been successful.

Does anyone could help me out?

Best,

Pengcheng Yang

Hi Pengcheng.  Please don't worry about this warning.  I believe there is a discrepancy where for some reason Java 1.6 is set as the source code version but the
bootstrap class path has been left as 1.7.  Compilation should still succeed as you see and won't cause any issues with the bytecode generated.  These warnings
will go away once InterMine is updated to use Java 1.8.
