fastcgi mouseover bug

Keiran Raine
Hi,

The bug I've found (and may have been mentioned somewhere else on the list, is there a decent search somewhere?) is that no matter what 'balloon' settings you use under fastcgi nothing seems to be honoured when running under fastcgi.

I've dug around but I can't find where this is (but I'm not an expert in the inner workings).  All I've managed to do to resolve this is force the image maps to be generated 'inline' which reverts to cgi style behaviour (RenderPanel->make_map, force '$inline = 1;').  Although this is slightly slower for general rendering it does make the browser usable with pop-ups enabled and massively reduce server load.

Re: fastcgi mouseover bug

Walter, Mathias
Hi Keiran,

thanks for investigating the two problems regarding to the mouseover
bug and pre-caching. I ran into the same issues as I also try to
provide a GBrowse interface to hundreds of databases. Within the next
three weeks, I'll have a look at your workarrounds and the code.
Hopefuly, Lincoln can give us some advice since he is the expert with
the GBrowse and BioGraphics modules.

BTW: Please can you provide your patches as pull requests to the
GitHub project https://github.com/GMOD/Bio-Graphics?

Kind regards,
Mathias

Hi Keiran,

Sorry, I'm just seeing this bug report. What version are you using? In my hands the balloon settings are working fine under FastCGI (version 2.54).

Re: fastcgi mouseover bug

Lincoln Stein
Ok, this narrows it down. I'll try to turn around a few of these bugs this week.
